Statistically speaking, Kenneth Walker is coming off of his worst season as a professional. DRBR speaking, he was once again one of the most explosive and efficient running backs out there. Even though he missed time and even though the stats really don't show like on the surface he had a great season, there's a lot to love about what could happen with him moving forward in a new offense.

Last season, Seattle had a wide-open offensive approach, running three wide receivers and really focusing on passing the ball and finding mismatches in the secondary. This year, they're going to get back to basics and they're going to start running the football more often. The changes at offensive coordinator absolutely showcase the fact that running the football will be the first priority. They traded D.K. Metcalf, Tyler Lockett is gone, they brought in Cooper Kupp, and they have Jaxon Smith-Njigba. They clearly are looking at going to run the football way more often than what we have seen as of recent.

And with Sam Darnold at quarterback, we'll see maybe if he can be just as efficient as what Geno Smith was during his tenure in Seattle. But when it comes to Kenneth Walker, the DRBR loved him once again. 66 in yards after contact, 100 in tackles avoided per attempt. In fact, even though he missed time last season, he was one of the league leaders in avoided tackles. This guy was absolutely phenomenal once again making people miss. It's just unfortunate the defenses continued to crash on him.

Now, Zach Charbonnet also put together solid numbers. 72 in yards after contact, 85 in tackles avoided per attempt. When you take a look at what Zach Charbonnet could do, though, you have to wonder if his time is definitely going to be limited moving forward. New offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak was highly complimentary of Kenneth Walker during his introductory press conference. He had tons of things to say about the talent level being there and how they would want to utilize him in this offense.

Zach Charbonnet's name has not come up nearly as much. And when Kenneth Walker has been healthy over the last couple of years, Zach Charbonnet really doesn't see a whole lot of time. It's not until Kenneth Walker misses a game that Zach Charbonnet sees fantasy-worthy volume. So once again in 2025, more than likely those of you that love Zach Charbonnet, you're going to be sitting on the side wondering when Kenneth Walker will go down.

If you're a Kenneth Walker owner, it may be best to back him up with Zach Charbonnet, especially in your draft if he ends up falling far enough that you can just use a later-round pick on him and then you have your handcuff ready to go.
