Additional Notes
Entered 2024 recovering from injuries in 2022–2023, showing full return to form: highest yardage since his 2021 1,811-yard season
Multi-week dominance: averaged 100+ scrimmage yards in the final four games
Set Colts team records: franchise marks for total touchdowns through first five seasons, tied for second in 100‑yard games
Receiving involvement remains low: ≤18 catches in two straight seasons
Durability & Workload Notes
Missed 3 games in 2024, partly due to ankle injuries—the same issue that cost him games in prior seasons
Career rushing attempts now sit at 1,228, combined college/NFL touches near 2,337. Based on historical RB wear studies, potential performance fatigue could surface within the next 2–3 seasons
2025 Fantasy Football Outlook
Role & Opportunity
No major competition.. Colts added RB depth (Herbert, rookie Giddens), but none projected to significantly reduce Taylor’s volume
Offensive line remains solid (top-10 in run-blocking), and Colts will again lean heavily on their run game
Volume → PPR Value
Limited involvement as a receiver (18 grabs, ~136 yards total), meaning PPR upside largely tied to rushing production
With 300+ carries, his PPR floor remains strong, but ceiling is capped by low target share
Efficiency
4.7 YPC is solid, though below his career peak; suggests respectable but not elite efficiency
Health Factors
Has missed 16 games over three years; injury risk remains
Still, completed 14-game season in 2024 and closed strong—finishing top 10 in Half PPR scoring among RBs
Headliner Take
Jonathan Taylor enters the 2025 fantasy football season as the clear lead back for the Colts after a strong 2024 campaign in which he rushed for 1,431 yards and 11 touchdowns on 303 carries (4.7 YPC) over 14 games. His role as a workhorse remains secure, with little backfield competition threatening his volume. However, his receiving involvement was minimal again (18 catches for 136 yards), limiting his PPR upside compared to more versatile backs. While Taylor showed he can still produce at a high level, his recent injury history, missing multiple games in three straight seasons and heavy career workload are important considerations for fantasy managers. We also have to think about the QB situation. If Daniel Jones wins this job we may see even more JT. Either way given his workhorse role he’s locked in as a Top 12 Fantasy RB.
