2025 Fantasy Outlook
Target & Route Volume Recovery
- Pre-injury, Rice commanded ~34% target rate on ~61% of snaps
- His strong early usage indicates Mahomes trusts him in all situations
- With full health, a return to ~7–8 targets per game is plausible given KC’s WR depth
Efficiency & Explosiveness
- A 12.0 Y/R average, solid YAC (~1+ yd/tgt)
- His early-season numbers matched top-tier WR production
Health & Durability
- The seasonal knee injury was structural (LCL/PCL). He’s been cleared for running and training
- No re-injury reported and appears on track for full recovery
Off-Field & Legal Status
- Legal issues from March 2024 hit-and-run resulted in a 6 game NFL suspension
Competitive Depth in KC
- Xavier Worthy emerged with 59 rec, 638 yds, 6 TD in 2024
- Others like Hollywood Brown and tight end Travis Kelce, but Rice’s rapport with Mahomes and route versatility positions him high in the pecking order
Headliner Take
Rashee Rice enters the 2025 fantasy football season as a key piece of the Chiefs’ passing attack, having demonstrated strong efficiency and target volume before his 2024 knee injury. In his first four games of 2024, Rice averaged over 17.6 Half PPR points per game with a 12.0 yards-per-reception mark, showing clear chemistry with Patrick Mahomes. While his recovery from LCL/PCL surgery appears on track, he is now serving a 6 game suspension to start the season. With Kansas City’s WR depth chart more crowded, Rice’s 2025 outlook hinges on his health, availability, and ability to maintain his role as a top target in one of the NFL’s most potent offenses.
Now, after his suspension, he will for sure be fully healthy, but due to missing 6 weeks it's hard to draft him inside to top 30 WRs on the season. But be ready, when he comes back he is more than likely going to be a weekly Top 12-15 guy.
