2025 Fantasy Outlook
Target volume & offensive role
Led team as primary receiver with 133 targets (25.5% target share), 7.8 targets/game
Snapped 80%+ all but one game — clear WR1 usage
Efficiency & explosiveness
High YPR (14.7) plus elite slot efficiency showcased by top yards per route run
Quarterback & system upgrade
Liam Coen’s hire (from Bucs tree) bodes well for WR production - historically he’s elevated WRs guys like Godwin
Trevor Lawrence is healthy and full-time; stable QB play will likely sustain targets and TDs
JAX did draft Travis Hunter in the NFL draft giving Lawrence another big time play maker, he could take away some of the big plays we saw go the way of Thomas in 2024
Strength of schedule
Ranked 3rd‑easiest WR schedule for 2025
Consistency & upside
Late‑season performance shows strong floor; multiple 100‑yard games & multi‑TD efforts
Catchable target rate (~73.7%) and high red‑zone usage (~5 red‑zone targets/game) signal sustained TD upside
Headliner Take
Brian Thomas Jr. heads into 2025 poised for another standout season even with the addition of rookie Travis Hunter. While Hunter is expected to command attention on the outside as Coen’s scheme uses creative screen and downfield packages, that should mostly free up Thomas Jr., who can continue to thrive from the slot and across the formation. The writing on the wall shows Hunter lining up on the outside the majority of the time which will allow Coen to move BTJ all over the place, especially in the slot where he can be a target hog. Thomas remains Jacksonville’s clear No. 1 target in Coen’s offense, with volume, efficiency, and consistency all in his favor. Additional coverage attention paid to Hunter should open even more space for Thomas Jr. to consistently produce in PPR formats throughout the 2025 campaign. We do feel better with him in the 2nd round instead of the 1st round though.
