There is so much speculation on the future of Brandon Aiyuk. It sounds like his days in San Francisco may be numbered, but why are they going to part with the guy now? Make another run in 2024, let him walk, and just replace him with Ricky Pearsall. But still, I feel like people aren't giving him enough credit.
Back-to-back seasons as a top 15 fantasy wide receiver. He just had a career high in receiving yards with 1,342. He's the guy that Brock Purdy looks for down the field. Now, the volume is going to be lower, but he is just so efficient. He averages 17.9 yards per reception—that's the second highest among all NFL wide receivers. Plus, he scores 2.37 fantasy points per target as well—that's fourth highest in the league.
Now, there is that off chance that he gets traded at some point, and if he does, that's going to make a difference. But just remember what I said: he doesn't require huge volume to produce fantasy points. So even if he goes to a team that has other high-end weapons, he isn't reliant on a huge target share to score fantasy points.
Once again, I have no issues with Brandon Aiyuk being a wide receiver two in fantasy football.
