If you're looking for a late-round steal at the tight end position, then I say we look no further than Zach Ertz. Now with the Washington Commanders, Zach Ertz teams up with his former head coach with Arizona, Kliff Kingsbury, who is now the offensive coordinator there.
Back in 2021, with Kliff Kingsbury calling the offense in Arizona, Zach Ertz had 81 targets and finished the season as the tight end five in fantasy football. In 2022, Zach Ertz went down with a season-ending injury in Week 10, but heading into that Week 10 game, he was second in the NFL in targets among tight ends, and he was the tight end three in fantasy football.
The Washington Commanders have some exciting players at the wide receiver position: Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson. They drafted Luke McCaffrey, and at the tight end position, Ben Sinnott, who was also drafted this past year, will likely be the backup to Zach Ertz to begin. But Zach Ertz and Kliff Kingsbury have a lot of work together, and during that time, he was an absolute stud in Arizona.
So fingers crossed, he and Jaden Daniels get on the same page, and Zach Ertz becomes one of the best late-round picks that you could make in 2024 and becomes a stalwart at the tight end position for your fantasy football roster.
