When Mark Andrews is on the field, he's one of the most consistent tight ends that we can find in fantasy football. Last season, in his first eight games of the year, he was a top 12 tight end seven times. We know Lamar Jackson is going to be looking his way quite often. It's not the production that becomes an issue for Mark Andrews; it's the fact that he continues to be banged up.
Over the last few years since 2020, he has missed 12 games, including last season when he missed seven games after that devastating leg injury that was a part of the reason why the hip drop tackle is now banned in the NFL. Mark Andrews' ADP just becomes a concern because of how many games he's missing. Typically, for you to snag Mark Andrews, you're going to have to take him in the first four rounds. But to draft a tight end in the first four rounds that could be missing two, three, or even four games per season is a little too high for me. I'd rather risk it for somebody a little later.
I mean, if you're worried about up and down performances or missing time, why don't you just draft George Kittle like three rounds later than Mark Andrews? I love Mark Andrews, and again, he is one of the most consistent fantasy tight ends when he is actually on the field. But considering his ADP has not dropped over the past couple of seasons, even with the injuries, it just makes it a little bit more difficult to invest in him where he's at.
