QB: Anthony Richardson - IND

Anthony Richardson is one of the most polarizing quarterbacks in the NFL and in fantasy football. People either love him or they think he's completely overrated and really nothing in between. He only played two full games and two partial games in 2023. The two full games he played were in weeks one and week four. Those two weeks, he finished as the overall quarterback four and the overall quarterback two on the week. Heck, in week two, the guy only played in 18 offensive snaps and scored 17.7 fantasy points before having to leave the game injured.

Now, on average, quarterbacks play right around 60 snaps a game or so. Richardson in 2023 only played a total of 173 snaps all season long. So in reality, Anthony Richardson played right around three full games' worth of snaps. In those games, he scored a total of 73.7 fantasy points. If you take 73.7 fantasy points and divide it by 3 games, that means his average fantasy points per game would be 24.6. For a little perspective, last year's overall quarterback one, Josh Allen, averaged 24.1 fantasy points per game.

He's going to have a number one wide receiver option in Michael Pittman, Josh Downs now in his second year, and then they just went out and drafted Adonai Mitchell as well. They should also have massive tight end Jelani Woods back in the mix, and he is a huge, big-time red zone threat, figuratively and literally—dude's like 6'8". They have one of the better offensive lines. The rushing upside of Anthony Richardson is still there, and that could only lead to an even bigger year.

But because there are some red flags with the injuries that he's racked up here pretty early on in his career, if you draft Anthony Richardson, you need to take some insurance late, even if it's someone in the double-digit rounds, an aging vet, maybe like a Matthew Stafford or Kirk Cousins.
