A lot of people feel burned by the disappointment that was Jaylen Waddle in 2023, but they totally ignore the fact that really the biggest reason it was a disappointing season is he wasn't on the field enough due to health. The guy still had 1,356 yards and four touchdowns, missed three games, and played in less than 50% of the snaps in two other games. Really, the biggest thing to worry about with Jaylen Waddle is the number of weapons overall in this offense. We know about Tyreek Hill. They added Odell Beckham. They added Jonnu Smith. That running game is going to be great once again as well.
But sometimes it helps to just follow the money, and Waddle just got paid, which shows you they're dedicated to him long-term. They want him to be a part of this offensive game plan for a long time, and they're going to pay him to do so. Now we just get him at a discount in 2024, probably somewhere right around the third to fourth round, depending on your league size. He's a speedy wide receiver that plays in one of the highest-powered offenses in the NFL. This is exactly what we look for—a guy that can produce without needing huge volume. 100 targets is more than enough for him to flirt with top 12 overall wide receiver numbers.
You could easily end up with a stud wide receiver, a stud running back in the first two rounds, and you start off the third with Jaylen Waddle as your wide receiver two. That's something I would absolutely love.
