When a player like DeVonta Smith shows you what he actually is, don't overthink it in fantasy football. He's a mid to low-end wide receiver two each and every year, and there is nothing wrong with that. It is what it is. At year's end, he's going to be somewhere right around 85 catches for 1,100 yards and seven touchdowns—a super solid season.
But we also know that this passing offense in Philadelphia didn't really change much going into 2024, so why are we going to have a difference in expectation now? That team did add Saquon Barkley. That's not going to affect DeVonta Smith very much. He's just going to remain very big play dependent. He only had 10-plus targets four times in 2024. So if you prefer a guy with a slightly higher overall ceiling that's maybe being drafted in a similar area, I would probably look towards the way of guys like DK Metcalf, Zay Flowers, or George Pickens.
