So Puka Nacua comes along and everyone wants to just forget about Cooper Kupp. And I somewhat get it. We're a long time removed from his Cinderella season back in 2021. Back-to-back years now, injuries have caused him to miss games—13 missed games over the last two seasons to be exact. But when he's on the field, when he's healthy, he's a top 12 to 15 option at the wide receiver position.
But we know he isn't the only show in town. We know about Puka. We can't forget about Demarcus Robinson. He was a top 24 fantasy wide receiver last season between weeks 13 and 18. We also have Tutu Atwell, Tyler Higbee, and a stud backfield of Kyren Williams and Blake Corum. Stafford no longer needs to go out there and just force-feed the ball to Cooper Kupp like he has in the past. No other wide receiver in LA had over 90 targets back in 2021. That season, Cooper Kupp had 191. We can see three wide receivers this season in LA all exceed 90 targets.
Now, Cooper Kupp is getting a little bit older. He's going to be 31 years old at the time the NFL season kicks off, but I'm not ready to quite say he's finished yet. He may be top 10 finished, but the connection that he has with Matthew Stafford still makes him a top 24 option. Now, I don't want Cooper Kupp to be my wide receiver one in 2024, but if I can get him as my wide receiver two with some upside, I would still do that for sure.
