I want to talk about a guy. This one is pretty easy, an easy choice for me, really. It's A.J. Dillon of the Green Bay Packers. Now listen, he basically is in a 50-50 share as of right now with Aaron Jones, but we all know Aaron Jones being as fragile as he is and has been in the past, this puts Dillon as a legitimate RB1 with the upside to garner 200 plus touches with a Jones injury.
He's already had over 2,500 total yards and 14 touchdowns combined these last two seasons, so the guy really has potential. A lot of it was capped with Aaron Rodgers being there the last couple seasons. You know, of course, Aaron Rodgers does Aaron Rodgers things, right? He didn't really use A.J. Dillon in the right aspect. I don't want to get off on a tangent, but Aaron Jones was his guy.
A.J. Dillon has the ability to catch out of the backfield. In the times where he's had the volume, when Aaron Jones went down, A.J. Dillon provided RB1 numbers. He can catch the ball, he can run out of the backfield with no problem, and he's tough to stop. It's plain and simple. 250 pounds running downhill, the man is a monster.
But now, with a young quarterback under center, they'll be forced to lean heavily upon the run, and A.J. Dillon will be a huge part of that. And again, this is all because of the potential that he could possibly see, not only the fact that it could be a 50-50 split. So, you can get A.J. Dillon as a flex play, but you also want to have him as a handcuff and have him on your bench in the event, and it probably will happen. It's happened several years with Aaron Jones. He gets nicked up, and he's getting older. He's past his prime right now.
So, A.J. Dillon is a perfect example of a high-value handcuff. So, you want to go out there and look for A.J. Dillon.
