I really don't think I'll ever be on board with recommending Taysom Hill to you as a tight end option because like 80% of the time, it's not going to work out for you. Last year, he did put together seven tight end one finishes, and we know those tight end one finishes are going to come sometimes because of how he's utilized. Whether it be in the passing game, at the quarterback position, or running the football, they try to utilize him in a lot of different ways. That's why his potential to be a tight end one absolutely is there.
It's the weeks that he doesn't finish as a tight end one because he finished as the tight end 30 or lower six times last season. Do you know how awful you have to be to finish as the tight end 30 or lower? Are there even 30 tight ends in the National Football League that are worth getting targets in a game? That right there is why I can't get on board with recommending that you draft Taysom Hill for any type of a redraft league.
Now, if you want to take a shot on him in best ball, I don't mind that at all. Taysom Hill is like the true best ball weapon that you want to have on your team. But in redraft leagues, he's going to kill you. There might be some weeks that, yeah, he helps you out, but there are so many more consistent tight end options. And let's just be real here, the word "consistent" never goes with the tight end position. That's why it's so crazy to say it in regards to Taysom Hill. But there are more consistent options out there than what Taysom Hill is or will ever be.
He shouldn't even be listed as a tight end in fantasy football, but here we are. A lot of people think he's a cheat code, and maybe in best ball, he is. But in redraft leagues, he's going to hurt you a lot. And he's not just going to hurt you; he's going to tank your entire week.
