It's hard to envision a scenario where Dalton Schultz finishes higher than fourth on the Houston Texans in targets next season. Let's think about this critically.
Nico Collins, one of the best big play threats in all of football last year, is now going to have a lot of one-on-one coverage on the outside. C.J. Stroud is going to be looking his way.
Tank Dell and C.J. Stroud are boys; Stroud is going to continue to pepper Tank Dell with targets as long as he stays healthy.
Then, you've added Stefon Diggs. He has some stories that follow him to Houston about being a locker room cancer and being a guy that definitely can bring the team morale down, especially if he's not being targeted. They went out and got Stefon Diggs for a reason. C.J. Stroud is going to be looking his way quite a bit.
While I like Dalton Schultz, I just don't think he's going to be a guy that's going to consistently give you the amount of targets that you would like. Even when he is getting the targets, I don't know if his upside is all that appealing either.
Best ball leagues? I'm not really on board. Redraft leagues? There are some guys with higher upside I would rather take a shot on. Dalton Schultz, unfortunately, is just a bystander to not enough targets.
