Through the first five weeks of the 2023 season, Rhamondre Stevenson was the RB26 and a massive disappointment because the New England Patriots just could not get their act together. But then, in Week 6, he started to heat up. From Week 6 through Week 12, he was the RB13 during that stretch, and things were looking up for him. But unfortunately, he got hurt in Week 13 and didn't see the field for the rest of the season. Rhamondre Stevenson at that point became one of the bigger busts of 2023. It wasn't necessarily his fault, but it still ended up happening.
With Jacoby Brissett and Drake May, New England hopes they have much more consistent options at the quarterback position this season. I really wish their wide receivers were a little bit better to command more control of the field and the defense's attention, but I'm not willing to bet against Rhamondre Stevenson this year. We just need to recalculate what we think about Rhamondre Stevenson. The RB13 performance that we saw from him midway through the season is what I expect his ceiling to be this year. He could have a couple of games where he finds himself creeping up into RB1 status, but I think if we temper those expectations a little bit and realize this offense will be a little bit better but not a ton better, he won't be the RB1 we hoped for last year.
