Headliner Take
Christian McCaffrey enters 2025 as the unquestioned lead back for the 49ers, but durability is once again the elephant in the room. After a frustrating 2024 in which he appeared in only 4 games (348 total yards, 0 TDs), fantasy managers are left wondering if they can trust the 29-year-old in high-leverage spots. Still, when healthy, there may be no better fantasy asset. His 2023 masterpiece (over 2,000 yards, 21 TDs) reminds us just how high the ceiling is. If CMC stays upright, he’s still a league-winner. But given the risk, managers should hedge—draft added WR depth and be sure to stash rookie Isaac Guerendo late.
