Let me be perfectly clear. As a University of Michigan fan with posters hanging up behind me that have Blake Corum on them, I love Blake Corum, but he has not taken Kyren Williams' job. Now, I also think that Blake Corum was vastly overlooked in this year's draft class. Yeah, maybe the 2023 numbers show a guy that lost just a little bit of burst, but that was from the knee injury. If you look at his 2022 stats, he was one of the most efficient volume-heavy running backs in all of college football. He probably would have won the Heisman had he not got hurt against Illinois. But he's going to be a supplement to Kyren Williams. He's not taking Kyren Williams' job. He's not going to keep Kyren Williams from being a top five running back this year, top 10 at worst. He's not going to keep Kyren Williams from scoring touchdowns or giving you the fantasy points that you need to draft him early on.
Blake Corum is a guy that we should be drafting if we're a Kyren Williams owner. He's going to get a few touches here or there, but it's if Kyren Williams misses any time that Blake Corum becomes fantasy-relevant. So this year, only invest in him as a handcuff to Kyren Williams. Other than that, we shouldn't be looking at him as a consistent fantasy contributor.
