RB: Bijan Robinson - ATL

In 2023, things got off to a pretty good start for the rookie Bijan Robinson, finishing as the RB8 in back-to-back weeks in Week 1 and Week 2. But little did we know that would be the best that we would get, as he would not finish as a top-10 running back in back-to-back weeks for the rest of the season. In fact, there were a couple of weeks where Bijan Robinson was healthy for the entire game and finished as the RB60 and RB99. To be quite honest, I didn't even know you could be RB99. He had negative one fantasy point that week in half PPR leagues. He did salvage things a little bit at the very end of the season, finishing as a top-12 running back in four of the last seven weeks.

But I highly doubt we're going to have to worry about any of that with Bijan Robinson heading into 2024. Raheem Morris has already made it known that Bijan Robinson is going to be utilized very differently, in a good way, this season than what he was last year. When you break down all the data on a per-touch basis, Bijan Robinson really was one of the better running backs in all of football last season from an efficiency standpoint. On the ground, he was a top-10 running back in yards per attempt, yards after contact per attempt, and tackles avoided per attempt. The same thing through the air: a top-10 running back in yards per target, yards per reception, and yards after the catch per reception.

All we really need from Bijan Robinson in 2024 is more consistent volume. The rest of it will take care of itself. Heck, there was a stretch last season where he saw 10 carries, then 19, then 10 again. We just need to be more consistent with the amount of volume he's getting on a week-to-week basis. If that happens, Bijan Robinson should easily find himself inside the top five running backs this season and maybe even challenge for the number one overall running back. Now that they have a better offense with Kirk Cousins at the helm of everything, I am absolutely confident drafting Bijan Robinson. If you really wanted to use your first overall pick on him, I may not even argue with you if you wanted to do that.
