QB: Kirk Cousins - ATL

Do I care if "Big Kirko" Kirk Cousins can win the big game or not? No, I really don't. I care if he can go out there and put up fantasy points. That's definitely what he does when he's on the field. The dude is averaging just under 20 fantasy points per game over the last four seasons. But now he's coming off a torn Achilles, and he no longer has Justin Jefferson to throw to, and that matters. Now, injury-wise, he should be on target and be good to go for the start of the season. But weapons-wise, honestly, it's not that big of a downgrade, if at all. Drake London, Kyle Pitts, Darnell Mooney, Rondale Moore, and Bijan Robinson is more than enough for Big Kirko to go out there and put up points. It also helps tremendously that there's a new coaching staff in Atlanta with head coach Raheem Morris. The last time Raheem Morris was a head coach in the NFL, he had a passing offense that finished top seven in the NFL in pass attempts.

It's not like Kirk Cousins is going to be some scrambling machine, so the Achilles really shouldn't restrict him much. But there is a chance that he starts off a little bit slow—three tough matchups to start the season: Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Kansas City. But if you look forward to the end of the season, that's where he has some of the easiest fantasy playoff matchups, including a juicy matchup in Week 17 against arguably one of the worst defenses in the NFL, the Washington Commanders.

Now, he may not have a player on this offense the caliber of a Justin Jefferson, but as an overall offense, this is going to be one of the better offenses he's had. He has a true number one in Drake London. He has guys that can stretch the field in Darnell Mooney, guys that can absolutely dominate underneath like Rondale Moore. Bijan Robinson is a huge weapon out of the backfield. You may dislike Kyle Pitts, but honestly, with the way that Kirk Cousins has used the tight end position in the past, he could also have a solid year as well.

I really have no reason to believe that Kirk Cousins' fantasy numbers are going to be any different than what we've seen the last couple years. The biggest difference is he's a year older, coming off of a major injury. But I will say this: the only way we see Michael Penix is if Kirk Cousins can't go. He's still a solid late-round quarterback if you're looking for one right around the early 10th round or so.
