What a difference a year makes. Last year, there were people all over the place that thought Jordan Love was just going to suck. Then he goes out and throws for over 4,000 yards, 32 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, adds another 250 yards on the ground and four rushing touchdowns, and finishes as the overall quarterback five on the year.
And now we move forward to 2024, where all of a sudden he finds himself right around the late fifth round or so in ADP. But here's what I think is most important when considering Jordan Love: he isn't reliant on one stud wide receiver in order for him to put up big-time numbers. He does it with whatever he has. Christian Watson—okay, we're not even going to mention Christian Watson because he never has him, because he's permanently injured it seems like. But he also has guys like Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks. How about young tight end Luke Musgrave?
He spreads the ball around and that makes him so much safer in fantasy football. Take Dak Prescott for instance. If he loses CeeDee Lamb, he's in trouble. If Love loses a guy, they don't skip a beat and just move on to the next guy in the rotation. Dontayvion Wicks may be his fourth passing option in this offense, but on other NFL teams, he could probably be as high as their wide receiver two. That's how good that kid is.
There is youth all over the field here for Green Bay. We now have Josh Jacobs in the backfield. That's going to command defensive attention, which also leads to more one-on-one coverage on the outside for these stud young wide receivers. Once all the high-end elite names are off the board, Jordan Love is a safe, reliable option.
