QB: Brock Purdy - SF

Updated: Jun 26, 2024

Is it just me, or does Brock Purdy in the early eighth round kind of sound like league-winning material? Last year, the guy was the quarterback six overall and averaged just under 20 fantasy points per game. He threw for 4,200 yards, 31 touchdowns, and only 11 interceptions.

He has arguably the best overall offense in the league with guys like Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, George Kittle, and Christian McCaffrey. But on top of all of that, they added one of the most underrated wide receivers, I think, in the NFL draft in Ricky Pearsall.

Now that is an absolute fantasy nightmare trying to figure out who's going to catch balls on a weekly basis. However, that is not a nightmare for Brock Purdy, because we know each and every week one of those guys is going to go off, and Brock Purdy is going to benefit from it. I mean, the guy was getting MVP votes last season. He needs to be considered in fantasy football.

So while it's great to get those huge numbers from time to time from those running quarterbacks, there's something great about having a guy that you can just plug in weekly and know you really don't have to worry about it. A competent quarterback in one of the best overall offenses in the NFL? It's a no-brainer. If you're looking for a quarterback around the eighth round, Brock Purdy is probably my guy..
