Injury Breakdown: Tony Pollard - DAL

When we're talking about running backs that exploded last year, the conversation starts and ends with Tony Pollard. But a lot of people tend to forget the last time we saw him, he was being carted off with a broken ankle. Now, Ezekiel Elliott, he's gone. Dalton Schultz, he's gone too. But Pollard was incredible last year when he was given full-time starter reps with the Cowboys.

Few players benefited more from a fantasy perspective from their team's offseason moves than Tony Pollard. He finished last year as the RB7 in fantasy and did so while ranking outside the top 25 running backs for touches per game. Ezekiel Elliott is totally gone. We don't think he's coming back to the Cowboys, and Tony Pollard has a chance to prove that he wasn't just a one-year wonder, that his efficiency dating back to when he started in the league is how good he actually is.

So, he did have surgery for his ankle to address that broken bone that he suffered in the team's playoff loss against the 49ers, but he should be back to 100% well before the beginning of offseason programs. Pollard's average draft position continues to balloon up, and it seems like everything has gone right for him from a team-building perspective for the team this offseason. He's going inside the top eight running backs by his current ADP.

But from an injury perspective, I just don't really think there's a whole lot to be worried about here. If you believe Pollard is going to continue to be a top-five running back, he's absolutely still a deal and somebody that I'm okay with drafting this year in fantasy football.
