Breakouts: Jake Ferguson - DAL

When you look at the Cowboys' roster, what do you see? I see a below-average rushing offense led by an aging Ezekiel Elliott, an offensive line that's not as good now as it has been in the past, but most importantly, a passing offense that doesn't have much after CeeDee Lamb at the wide receiver position. Michael Gallup is gone. Brandin Cooks hasn't had over 700 yards now in back-to-back seasons. Third-year wide receiver Jalen Tolbert only has 39 targets total over the last 2 years, and that's about it at the wide receiver position.

Which, in my opinion, makes Jake Ferguson a lock for 100-plus targets. I mean, hell, last year he had 102. I would even say that 120 are possible here this season. He ended last year with 102 targets, 71 catches, 761 yards, and five touchdowns, finishing as the tight end eight overall. The guy finished top 12 among all tight ends in targets, slot snaps, routes run, deep targets, red zone targets, receptions, receiving yards, YAC yards, and touchdowns.

And now somehow he is ranked lower in 2024 than he finished in 2023. This dude possesses the trifecta: volume, yards after the catch, and red zone targets. I look for him to challenge the top five overall tight ends in 2024..
